Last night I bolted forward from my pillow
Suddenly awakened from such a deep sleep
Gasping for breath
I felt a presence, but saw no one
I shouted in vain for someone to show themselves in the dark
The silence was deafening

I fell back asleep after a futile search
An hour later the phone rang
You had left us
The time was exact, the reason for my slumber suddenly ended now clear
Each day has brought me closer to the eternal that you are now
No less love now than ever
Arrivederci Italia
We are here but such a short time
But not for you mother, would I be.
